There were Capcom's associations to develop sequels to its catalog such as Bionic Commando and DmC Devil May Cry. There have been numerous acquisitions by SEGA of studios specializing in PC games. There has been Bandai Namco's publishing activity for original projects such as Dead to Rights, Enslaved or, more recently, Project CARS. While everyone sees a serious crisis of influence from Japanese developers, each of the giants is responding in its own way. This Japanese decline, Square Enix, is perhaps the greatest symbol, the perfect example to analyze in depth the causes of this trend that became evident in the second half of the 2000s. A Square Enix that will also respond by investing in the West and going so far as to buy out a local publisher."
